To optimize the provision of critical care in the ED resuscitation pod via.

1. Evidence and consensus driven care protocols and guidelines
2. Ongoing multi-professional education focused on resuscitation and critical care
3. Monitoring quality metrics in the provision of critical care
4. Streamlining systems resuscitation bays to facilitate ease of practice
5. Introducing new technologies
6. Facilitating and attracting research endeavors

EDRU Ongoing Process Improvement

As the quaternary care center, stroke center, advanced cardiac care center and only level one trauma center in the state, we specialize in being the hospital for the critically ill. The EDRU phase of care, a critical link between EMS and ICU/ operative care, is often a key determinant of patient outcome. Managing life threatening, time sensitive emergencies demand that we continuously strive to provide state-of-the –art resuscitation. This includes but is not limited to: 

1. Continuing education of all things resuscitation and critical care; multi-professional & multi-disciplinary.
2. Systems/Logistics improvements
3. Clinical Guideline development and implementation
4. Advanced diagnostic and treat
