The EMS Academy maintains and updates this handbook whose purpose is to give you important information to help you through the curriculum. The purpose of this handbook is to provide guidance and policy specifics for all EMS Courses at the EMS Academy. You will receive syllabi for EMT-Basic and Paramedic courses that relate specifically to those parts of the curriculum. The UNM School of Medicine, EMS Academy reserves the right to make changes to any of the policies, procedures, codes, standards, requirements, or services included in this handbook as it deems necessary, with the changes applicable to all students in attendance at the EMS Academy.
