I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and as a kid, going to the doctor meant a yearly visit with my primary care provider. I went into family medicine because primary care has an important role as the link between patients and the larger healthcare system. I feel blessed to be a patient’s trusted medical provider that can help them manage their health. I went to undergrad in Waco, Texas where I earned a Medical Spanish certificate and saw the direct benefits of preventative care on people’s health. During medical school at the University of Kansas, I enjoyed being able to explain to my family members what their lab reports meant and why it was important to manage chronic diseases. I chose the University of New Mexico because of its inclusivity and dedication to its community. I am passionate about advocacy, women’s health, providing healthcare to underserved populations and patient education. I am excited to provide holistic, individualized care to patients that makes sense in the context of their lives. Outside of medicine, I love to spend time with my friends and family, enjoy being outside and playing with my cat!
