I was born and raised in Farmington, NM, and did my undergraduate and medical education at UNM. I was a member of the Rural and Urban Underserved program during medical school, and my interest grew for serving the underserved through a variety of rotations. My goal is to become a full-scope Family Medicine provider, with an interest in adolescent, rural, and addiction medicine. I found my way into Family Medicine through providing healthcare to patients, and by understanding the needs that many patients require, through both a medical and social lens. Navigating these issues is what provides quality healthcare for patients. I chose to stay at UNM because it provides and values healthcare for a diverse and largely underserved community. What I learn here at UNM, will prepare me for a future where I can provide a broad spectrum of care for patients within the state of New Mexico.
