My desire to become a Family Medicine physician is based in being able to provide broad-spectrum medical care for my patients when they have an illness as well as the opportunity to implement preventative medicine when patients are healthy to increase their quality of life. I love the idea of getting to know a patient and helping them build healthy habits into their life based on their own personal values and interests! Family Medicine also allows me to get to know a community on a personal level and work to become a leader within it. UNM's program in Santa Fe is perfect for me because it combines the resources of an academic institution with the responsibility of a community hospital. I believe this, combined with the supportive leadership and patient advocacy rotations, will allow me to be a well-trained, broad-spectrum Family Medicine physician who is capable of becoming a leader in any community. I also love spending time ourdoors and can't wait to get to know the Land of Enchantment!
