I grew up in Southern California but spent a few years in Costa Rica as a kid, where I learned Spanish and developed an early appreciation for different cultures and communities. I came to New Mexico for college and graduated from UNM with a major in Biology and minor in Spanish. I also went to UNM for medical school and am excited to be continuing my education here in the Family Medicine program. What I love most about family medicine is the emphasis on continuity, community, and comprehensive care. I love forming long-term relationships with patients, addressing both medical and social aspects of health. I’m particularly passionate about obstetric care as well as building trust with communities that have so often been marginalized or abused by medicine. Outside of medicine, I love listening to and playing music. I also enjoy climbing, biking, and snowboarding whenever I can. I am really looking forward to caring for the residents of this incredible state.
