Core Faculties of ISUBI are open to investigators across campus and act as a research center for Regional and National Trials.
The Interdisciplinary Substance Use And Brain Injury (ISUBI) Was completed in 2023. Focusing on two interrelated health priorities of New Mexico: brain injury, and substance abuse. This 16,000 sq ft facility is funded by an NIH construction grant (CO6 ODO28370) and generous institutional support. The Department of Neurosciences, Department of Psychiatry and the College of Pharmacy and Animal Research Facilities- ARF, have leadership roles in the development and scientific oversight of the facility.
This facility provides significant space and opportunities for faculty and trainees, housing state of the art laboratories, and clinical research testing spaces instrumental in the discovery of new treatment mechanisms and testing to ensure efficacy in real-world settings. In addition, this facility will be a hub for HSC-main campus collaborations such as, Grand Challenges, CoBRE Centers, and other interdisciplinary initiatives.
