The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center Economic Development Office is committed to connecting stakeholders both within and outside the university to drive economic growth through innovation inspired or led by UNM Health Sciences.
We are dedicated to the economic, social, and cultural well-being of the communities we serve. Our team acts as a catalyst, fostering the growth and expansion of the economy in the Greater Albuquerque Area and beyond. We actively support New Mexico’s efforts in business attraction, retention, workforce development, and strategic expansion—working collaboratively to enhance communities and accelerate regional economic progress.
Established by state statute, the New Mexico Health Care Workforce Committee plays a critical role in our efforts. As stewards of statewide workforce data, we assess, monitor, and inform policy to promote the equitable distribution and adequate support of health care providers. Through robust analysis and collaboration, the Committee addresses provider shortages and strengthens health care access in rural and underserved communities.
At the heart of New Mexico and the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is a vibrant ecosystem where innovators and entrepreneurs create meaningful human, social, and economic impact. Through groundbreaking research and transformative discoveries, we turn visionary ideas into real-world solutions that advance public health and improve well-being.
By proactively cultivating new relationships and collaborating with our partners, we are dedicated to strengthening the economic landscape of both the Greater Albuquerque Area and throughout New Mexico.
