We strive to achieve equity for all, promote a diverse and inclusive healthcare provider and staff workforce and eliminate disparate health outcomes.
Our mission at the UNM Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob-Gyn) Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Committee, formed in September of 2020 during the Black Lives Matter movement and the nationwide reckoning with white supremacy, is to pledge with intentional action. We practice anti-racism and inclusion while embracing diversity and equitably serving our community members. We recognize there is innovation, beauty, and growth in diversity, and that the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion is dynamic and lifelong. Our strength comes from broad experiential perspectives, a commitment to change, and a passion for advocating for womxn. We invite you to participate, arriving as you are, and encourage genuine self-reflection and positive change. Our department must work together to do better - to be better.
