UNM Divison Of Physical Therapy seeks Lecturer, Part Time

The Division of Physical Therapy at the Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Campus has an open rank part time 0.5 FTE faculty Lecturer position to assist in teaching the first year Orthopaedic Block (both evaluation and treatment), Anatomy 1 & 2 dissection labs, third year advanced orthopeadics as well as assist others with research as needed.
These courses will involve dissection and study of the human body, kinesiology, manual therapy (including manipulation), therapeutic exercise, dry needling and principles of evaluation. All areas of the body are addressed in a regional approach.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Physical Therapy degree;
  • 3 years' experience in an outpatient orthopaedic environment utilizing advanced orthopedic techniques.
  • Can meet Technical standards to dissect human tissue;
  • Current or eligible NM PT license;
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than 3 years' experience in an outpatient orthopaedic environment utilizing advanced orthopedic techniques.
  • Evidence of continuing education in orthopaedic assessment,
  • OCS or SCS board specialization,
  • Orthopaedic or sports residency,
  • Evidence of continuing education in courses requiring the utilization of anatomy,
  • Evidence of continuing education in course for manual therapy,
  • Dry needling certification,
  • Prior lab assistance in gross anatomy,
  • Prior experience as a clinical instructor,
  • Advanced degree (post professional DPT or PhD)

Teaching Period: 12 month contract x 0.5 (average 20 hours per week)

Seeking Pediatric Physical Therapist

Sunshine Kids Therapy is an outpatient pediatric therapy clinic located in Belen, NM. Our main goal is to provide local, quality therapy to families in Valencia County.
