The ERAS application portal opens to programs on October 21, 2020. Applications are only accepted via ERAS. Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will contact you when a decision is made.
Application Information
To apply to the UNM pediatric residency program, you must register through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We do not accept residents outside of the Match.
Submit your application and materials through ERAS. You must submit:
- A common application form
- Your medical school transcript
- A personal statement
- USMLE/COMLEX scores
- A Dean’s letter (Medical Student Performance Evaluation)
- Minimum of 3 letters of recommendation
- A photograph
If you are selected to interview, we will send you an invitation and next-steps email through Interview Broker. You will have a minimum of 24 hours to schedule your interview to ensure that slots are still available. Interviews will be scheduled for most Tuesdays and Wednesdays in November, December, and January.
International Medical Graduates
International medical graduates should have the following, in addition to the application materials listed above:
- Green card, J-1 Visa or documentation of US citizenship
- Valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificat
- Evidence of a minimum of four months of clinical experience in the US, not including observational or research experiences
- Two to three letters of recommendation from academic physicians you have worked with in the US
- Minimum USMLE scores of 210 on both Step I and Step II
In addition, your medical school must appear on the list of schools recognized by the Medical Board of California, and your graduation must have occurred no more than two years prior to the application.
International medical graduate applications are reviewed beginning in December.
Child Neurology Applicants
