Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I felt at home right away during my interview here. I could tell that there was a culture of support among the residents, and that they were also supported and encouraged by attendings and faculty. I was also hoping to end up at an academic center where there would be research opportunities, with plenty of community involvement. Plus, I'm from the southwest, and this was an opportunity to get back to sunshine after going to med school on the east coast!
Favorite Things About UNM: The residents really do support each other! I feel like we are a pretty tight knit bunch, and I genuinely enjoy going to work each day with my co-residents. I feel like we do a good job of taking care of each other both at work, and outside of work. The administration and faculty are also very committed to helping us become the best pediatricians we can be.
Favorite Things About NM: I love that there are so many things to do! There are hikes and things to do outdoors year round, as well as so many fun local restaurants. Exploring the state with my boyfriend and my doggos is one of my most favorite things to do.
