Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: Since I grew up in Albuquerque, I thought residency was a good time for me to leave New Mexico (with plans to come back). While exploring other residencies, there was no program where I really felt "at home" like I did at UNM. The people were just so fun and supportive of the residents and everyone is just so excited to teach. The welcoming environment was hard to beat.
Favorite Things About UNM: As a resident at UNM, we are able to really take on the role of the provider for our patients. We are given the autonomy to treat out patients, but there is always support available if we need it. We are given the resources and confidence to be good providers.
Favorite Things About NM: New Mexico is a beautiful place to live; the sunsets are hard to beat! Albuquerque is constantly growing and there are so many places to go on day trips when we may not have a lot of time. One of my favorite things to do is going to the Balloon Fiesta.
