Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I did a Sub-I here and loved it! I was given responsibility and treated like a member of the team. The residents and attendings were always willing to teach and give feedback, which has remained true in my time as a resident.
Favorite Things About UNM: UNM provides a unique opportunity to learn from a high volume of patients with very diverse pathology, which has pushed me and will prepare me for life after residency. I feel challenged but never alone. The support system is great and I always feel like I can ask for help if I need it.
Favorite Things About NM: Playing for the Jalapeno Poppers in the First Annual "Crystal Avila Champions of the Mountain UNM Residents/Faculty Kickball League"
