Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I had heard wonderful things about the UNM program and what an amazing environment it was to train. When I interviewed, multiple doctors I talked to had come to UNM for training and decided to stay after residency or return after fellowship which to me spoke very highly of the program. I am also very interested in a holistic approach to medicine and I really loved that UNM had an integrative medicine elective and included that fact on their website. On top of that, the Southwest is a beautiful area and Albuquerque is a very affordable city so I didn’t have to worry about struggling too much financially during residency. All of this and more caused me to put UNM at the top of my list.
