Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: UNM fits the environment I was looking for in a residency program. This program has made me feel safe from the start and has allowed me to be myself. Residency is hard on its own, but when you have people that support you professionally and personally it becomes an awesome experience.

Favorite Things About UNM: My favorite aspects of being a resident here are:

1. Working with people who are there to support you and help you in becoming a great attending.
2. Patients and the cases that I've seen so far. UNM is the place children come to from all over the state and you see several pathologies that are not necessarily seen in other regions.
3. My family is here and did not want to go to a different state for residency.

Favorite Things About NM: I love NM; there is so much to do. In my spare time, I like to go on hikes. (There are so many of them.) I also like to explore different foods and this city is constantly opening new spots. It is also a good place to live and do road trips to different states and explore; you have Colorado, Arizona, and Texas with driving times that are feasible.
