Application Requirements for University of New Mexico Interventional Radiology-Independent Residency Program:
For the 2023 ERAS® cycle, our program will be participating in the NRMP Match, and we are excited to receive information from the supplemental ERAS application offered through the AAMC’s ERAS program. Applicants will be required to complete the MyERAS application, and participation in the supplemental ERAS application is optional. In its second year of use, the supplemental ERAS application is designed to help students share more information about themselves and assist our program in finding applicants that fit our programs’ setting and mission. There is no cost to applicants and participation is optional.

Step 1: Minimum Application Requirements

Step 2: Research Our Program
Please visit the Department of Radiology Interventional Radiology-Independent Residency web site which contains in-depth details about our residency program, department, current residents and faculty, and the greater Albuquerque area.
Step 3: Submit an ERAS Application
Please send us a completed application through the Electronic Residency Application Service of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Our ACGME ID is 4203421120.
We require three Letters of Recommendation; one must be from a radiologist.
We require passing Step 1 exam. Step 3 exam scores are favorable.
Step 4: Receive an Invitation for a Personal Interview
After review of the submitted applications, selected applicants are invited to visit our program and personally meet with members of our Resident Selection Committee, which is composed of both faculty, residents and our Program Coordinator. If selected for interview, you will receive an invitation through ERAS with a specified interview date. Accept the invitation to schedule your interview. Interview season is typically November to March of each academic year.
Step 5: Participate in "The Match"
