If you are unsure whether a behavior rises to the level of mistreatment, you are encouraged to contact Diana MartÃnez, Director (confidential reporter) or Emma Naliboff Pettit, Assistant Director (confidential reporter), in the Learning Environment Office, for a confidential discussion.
505.272.7861We are interested in collecting your stories about faculty members, residents, fellows, students, nurses, and staff members who have impacted or influenced you in a significant way. Please tell us about what those teachers did that resulted in teaching excellence and how it changed you. Please help us recognize an exemplary teacher and/or learning experience!
iTeach recognitions are a way for learners to shout out someone who made their learning environment exemplary or helped them learn something. This can be a faculty member who taught a class, a student who tutored another student, a nurse who taught a procedure, a resident who supported an intern on a tough day – anything! All learners, staff members, and teachers are eligible to receive iTeach recognitions.
Please note that LEO does not investigate or substantiate iTeach recognitions.
Congratulations! You’ll receive an email from LEO sharing your recognition with you. If the learner shared any comments about what made them want to recognize you, those comments will be included in the email. You’ll also receive a red iTeach apple pin to wear on your lapel as an outward sign of this recognition. Teachers who are consistently recognized over time or by a high number of learners will also receive a custom teal pin.
Any learner can submit a recognition, including for moments of great teaching that they have observed (for example, a medical student who observed a senior resident patiently teaching an intern could recognize that senior resident). Faculty who collect this type of commentary from their own learners or have teaching awards are also welcome to send that data along to LEO to be included.
