LEO is working to build content to help both learners and teachers create and maintain positive learning environments.
Building Inclusive Leadership (BIL) is a year-long extracurricular program aimed at developing learners’ understanding of and advocacy for marginalized identities. The program is geared toward learners who desire to deepen their working knowledge of the lived experiences of oppressed groups and develop their ability to integrate this understanding into their personal and professional lives. The Learning Environment Speaker Series (LESS) focuses on emerging issues in learning environments and/or learning environment trends LEO has identified. The goals of the Series is to build awareness, knowledge, and build skills.
Building Inclusive Environments (BIE) focuses on systems and structures of oppression and marginalization and their intersection with health professions education. The goals of the Series is to build awareness, knowledge, and build skills.
On-Demand Trainings and Workshops. LEO regularly analyzes mistreatment data to better understand trends, patterns, and concerning culture/climate issues. From this review, LEO creates workshops and trainings that are aimed at building awareness and skills.
LEO Toolkits. In order to best support the HSC community in creating and maintaining respectful, supportive, and inclusive learning environments, LEO shares toolkits and resources as part of our quarterly reports.
