The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) and Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education (NPACE) invite you to participate in an innovative New Faculty Development Program! This credit continuing education program is designed for the learning needs of novice NP educators. Learners will complete five on-demand modules examining NP education's complex and unique aspects for faculty new to the role.

Professional Graduate Degree
Pursue an advanced degree, such as a Master's, Doctorate in Nursing or PhD. While a degree in nursing education can provide the necessary knowledge and skills, it is not required at this time. However, you must have a doctoral degree to teach in any of the graduate programs and at least a Master’s degree to teach in undergraduate programs.
Certification Programs
If not pursuing a degree in education, consider enrolling in an education certification program at a university or attend a specifically designed certification program for nurse educators. The National League for Nursing (NLN) organization offers the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) exam for nurse educator certification.
Professional Associations
Join organizations like the American Nurses Association (ANA), National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN), National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF), American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), Western Institute of Nursing (WIN) or other regional nursing education associations that can provide networking opportunities and access to educational resources.
