With classes 100% online, the Nursing Administration program is designed for working nurses. 8 week courses keep you on track to progress through your program. Fieldwork helps you apply what you have learned into practice. All while gaining skills that help you be an effective leader.

  • NURS 518 Population Health Leadership Across the Continuum (4 credits – 3 didactic, 1 clinical and 50 clinical hours)
  • NURS 514 Transforming Organizations through Health Care Reform (4 credits – 3 didactic, 1 clinical and 50 clinical hours)
  • NURS 513 Quality Management in a Transformative Health Care Environment (4 credits – 3 didactic, 1 clinical and 50 clinical hours)
  • NURS 508 Human Resource Management in the Changing Health Care Environment (4 credits – 3 didactic, 1 clinical and 50 clinical hours)
  • NURS 512 Finance for Nurse Leaders in Contemporary Health Care (4 credits – 3 didactic, 1 clinical and 50 clinical hours)
  • NURS 595 Nursing Fieldwork (4 clinical credits and 200 clinical hours)

Upon completion of the curriculum you will finish with 34 credits and 450 clinical hours total.

Fieldwork Experience

Nurses are hands on. Leading is no exception. Precept in a nurse manager or leadership role in an administrative clinical, policy or entrepreneurial setting.

A BSN degree from an accredited college or university. Options available for RNs with BS or BA.

Current RN license

We also offer more than $270,000 in UNM College of Nursing scholarships. Individual scholarship amounts range from $200-$4,000 annually.
