The New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center (NMPDIC) provides access to a number of fun and educational lesson plans listed below. The material content of each plan is designed to target specific age groups.

This program was developed by the Upstate New York Poison Center. The video features Mellie and Zipper learning to ask a trusted adult before eating or touching things that could be poisonous. The program also includes fun pages, a poison prevention checklist and a teacher's guide.
The "Quills Up – Stay Away!" program features Spike, the porcupine puppet. Spike makes it easy and fun to learn about poison prevention. Teacher's guide, video, and papper puppets are included.

Research shows us that the majority of children begin to self-medicate at 11 years of age. The OTC Literacy Program teaches over-the-counter medication safety for middle school children. There are separate age- appropriate lesson plans, fun games, and videos.
