About our Undergraduate Programs

Research Experience for High School Students (REHSS)

The Research Experience fphoto: Physical Therapy patientor High School Students (REHSS) is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn about and experience scientific research.  The student enters into a mentor/mentee relationship with a University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center faculty mentor to achieve a specific goal or project.  Each program is individualized to meet the mutual needs of the student and faculty mentor and may last for as little as a week or up to a year.

Undergraduate Pipeline Network Summer Research Experience (UPN)

The program works to cultivate students' interest in research while helping them attain skills needed to apply for and succeed in post-baccalaureate education. The program provides the opportunity for students to choose from two types of research – Biomedical Science or  Community-Based/Health Disparities. The program period covers 10 weeks and students participate in the program a minimum of 40 hours per week.
