Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science bridges the research-to-practice gap by engaging community and clinical partners to incorporate a focus on how evidence-based information, programs, and policies (collectively referred to as “interventions”) get integrated into routine public health and healthcare services and shared broadly to achieve health impact (NIH-PAR-22-105).
This science can advance health equity by emphasizing multilevel approaches and intersectoral collaborations to promote the uptake and sustainability of interventions within resource-limited settings and for medically underserved populations. Aligned with the growing recognition of the importance of D&I, especially in promoting health equity, the new Center for Advancing Dissemination and Implementation Science will lead capacity-building activities for research, training, and partnerships across the University of New Mexico (UNM) and beyond.
Be a regional, national, and global leader in advancing the science of dissemination and implementation for health equity.
To provide training and resources to clinicians, researchers, staff, and community partners, to improve their knowledge and skills around D&I science.
To offer consultations, mentorship, and funding support for clinicians, researchers, staff, and community partners to increase the number of research proposals and grants that incorporate D&I science at UNM.
To engage and build capacity for promoting and increasing research partnerships among clinicians, researchers, staff, and community partners, for D&I science at UNM and beyond.
Welcome to the Center for Advancing Dissemination and Implementation Science (CADIS)!
We are very excited to launch CADIS (pronounced kay-dis), aligned with the UNM Health and Health Science Strategic Plan, to promote and support the science of Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) across the UNM campus. With robust institutional support from the Executive Vice President and the Office of Research, we are looking forward to providing training, resources, and networking opportunities that will help build research partnerships to bridge the research-to-practice gap!
As we prepare to launch several of these activities over this inaugural year, we welcome you to subscribe to our newsletter and communications listserv.

Most recently, she was nominated to serve as the Inaugural Director of the newly established Center for Advancing Dissemination and Implementation Science at UNM. Prior to her faculty position, Dr. Adsul was a Cancer Prevention Fellow with the Implementation Science team at the National Cancer Institute. As an implementation scientist, she uses community-based and partnership-driven research approaches focused on health equity, often utilizing mixed methods that can help develop and test interventions and implementation strategies in pragmatic studies for cancer prevention and control.
