Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science bridges the research-to-practice gap by engaging community and clinical partners to incorporate a focus on how evidence-based information, programs, and policies (collectively referred to as “interventions”) get integrated into routine public health and healthcare services and shared broadly to achieve population health impact (PAR-25-144).
This science can advance population health by emphasizing multilevel approaches and intersectoral collaborations to promote the uptake and sustainability of interventions within resource-limited settings and for medically underserved populations. Aligned with the growing recognition of the importance of D&I, the Center for Advancing Dissemination and Implementation Science leads capacity-building activities for research, training, and partnerships across the University of New Mexico (UNM) and beyond.
Be a regional, national, and global leader in advancing the science of dissemination and implementation.
Dr. Adsul is the inaugural Director of the University of New Mexico's Center for Advancing Dissemination and Implementation Science (CADIS). She is a tenured Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, a member of the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a primary care physician by training.
A former National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Prevention Fellow, Dr. Adsul is an implementation scientist whose research uses participatory methods to design and implement pragmatic interventions that improve cancer prevention and control in medically underserved populations both locally and globally.
Aadeeba Kaareen, MPH, is a Program Specialist with the Center for Advancing Dissemination and Implementation Science (CADIS) at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She supports the development and coordination of programs, trainings, and collaborative initiatives that advance dissemination and implementation science.
