Our workshops are interactive sessions lasting between 2 and 4 hours. They intend to empower participants to implement new teaching practices. Workshop sessions may be fully onsite, or in blended format where some work is completed online prior to attending the course in person. The majority of the workshops offer CME credit.
Our Learn @ Lunch sessions are short, 1 to 1.5 hour informational sessions focused on introducing a teaching concept, pedagogical method or technology tool. The schedule for our upcoming Learn @ Lunch sessions appears below.
eLearning for Medical Educators (eLME) provides self-paced learning modules that are available for CME credit. These modules are provided on the CPL Learning Cloud and CME credits are available. Registration with/payment to CPL and an account in the CPL Learning Cloud is required.
The Medical Education Scholars (MES) program provides opportunities for School of Medicine faculty to broaden and deepen their understanding and expertise in creating effective learning experiences, undertaking scholarly research in medical education, or both.
Peer Observation in Support of Effective Teaching (POSET) is a voluntary program for School of Medicine educators. Through confidential interaction with a trained observer, educators receive feedback on the strengths and challenges about the learning environment, learner engagement, session management, and teaching strategies based on a pre-negotiated, standardized assessment tool.
The Residents as Educators program seeks residents and fellows with an interest in teaching now, and potentially in future academic practice. During a two-day conference, participants are recognized for their educational contributions and further develop their expertise as educators. Resident and fellow participants bring their skills back to their programs to enhance existing curriculum, improve departmental medical student and resident teaching, and potentially enhance educational scholarship opportunities within their departments.
