Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program. The UNM complex general surgicaloncology fellowship program will only accept applications through the ERAS system. Your completed application must be received no later than January 20, 2020 for fellowship starting in August the following year. We will notify applicants of their interview status following application review.
A completed application consists of:
- ERAS application
- Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement
- Photograph – wallet-sized color photo
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE transcript
- ABSITE scores
- Letters of Recommendations – 3
Alicia Fernandez, the program coordinator, will contact candidates with the status of your application. She will inform candidates when their file is complete or what items are needed.
UNM fellowship in complex general surgical oncology is participating in the National Residency Match Program and has coordinated our interviews with the other ACGME-accredited complex general surgical oncology fellowship programs.
Our interview dates for the 2020 Surgical Oncology Fellowship Match (August 1, 2021 fellowship start) are:
- Monday March 2, 2020
- Monday May 11, 2020
We host a dinner on the evening prior to the interview.
