This course is required for HSC Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs) of a contract or grant award. Staff who assist with contracts and grants are also encouraged to attend. Topics covered include managing the submission and award process, finding resources available for the investigator or contractor, and understanding ethical standards and regulatory requirements related to conducting research or implementing a contract. Required every 3 years, for PI's and Co-PI's who have already attended the Grants Management Training and hold current sponsored project funding. HSC Contracts and Grants Management Training Re-certification is an online course for re-certifying individuals who have taken HSC 105-001 within the last 3 years.

ALL HSC INVESTIGATORS are required to take this course prior to submitting proposals to the Sponsored Projects Office (PreAward) & re-certify every 4 years. This three part training reviews the requirements of and the responsibilities for compliance with the federal regulations and UNM HSC COI Policy on financial conflicts of interest for all research conducted at or through the HSC. All HSC investigators (faculty and staff) are required to take this course and to renew this training every four years.
