A Data Use Agreement (DUA) is a contractual arrangement between a data “provider” and a data “recipient” that governs the transfer of non-public or restricted-use data (e.g., data subject to HIPAA or other security requirements). DUAs typically address issues around limitations on use, liability for harm arising from use of data, publication rights, and how data will be exchanged, accessed, stored, used and protected.
All DUAs are initiated through the Sponsored Projects Office (SPO). Principal Investigators (PIs) and research teams should submit their DUA requests through the Click Agreements module and completing the DUA Request Form.
