Healthcare is rewarding work, but it can also be challenging. Sometimes the best support we can get is from someone who understands the kind of work we do. PeerConnect is available for peer support when you need to talk. It's safe and confidential.
If you would like more information about PeerConnect or interested in becoming a peer supporter, click here.
If you'd like to talk to a peer, follow this link, or reach out through TigerConnect (search "PeerConnect Support Team").
Trainings will be divided into the options of a 2-hour or 4-hour session, depending on the trainee's experience. We suggest the 4-hour training course for non-clinical staff and all who would prefer a deeper dive into the foundations of peer support and empathic listening skills. The 2-hour training course is suggested for those who already have experience offering clinical support of any kind. You can choose whichever training feels right to you - or attend both for extra practice. For more information or to sign up for a training, click here.
Everyone who has taken an initial training can attend drop-in sessions which will offer opportunities for case consultation, practicing in dyads, community building, and additional bite-sized training augmentation. Attend one of our upcoming drop-in sessions to refresh your knowledge and learn new tools. For more information or to sign up for an upcoming session, please email us at peerconnect@salud.unm.edu.
