CE-CERT Foundational Skills Training: Sustaining a Career in the Helping Professions Compassion Fatigue. Burnout. Secondary Traumatic Stress. Empathic Strain. These concepts have one thing in common: they describe the emotional toll for professionals who deal intensively and empathically with those who are engaged in an emotional personal struggle. CE-CERT offers a set of five evidence-informed skill domains that draw upon psychotherapy strategies and concepts (e.g., narrative therapy, ACT, Buddhist psychology) to enhance the clinician’s toolkit for well-being and career sustainment. Safeguarding Supervision offers supervisors and leaders with a set of trauma-informed skills and leader practices that prioritize the emotional well-being of all team members. Recognizing the unique challenges of trauma-exposed workplaces, this supervision model equips professionals with the tools they need to thrive while supporting others.
