Our educational mission is to maintain teaching programs that effectively communicate the principles and latest findings of molecular, cell and developmental biology, anatomical science and physiology to students, staff and faculty in the basic, clinical and allied health sciences at the University of New Mexico and to the citizens of the state of New Mexico.
MS and PhD in Biomedical Sciences
The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine includes both MS and PhD degrees and offers an exciting opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the biomedical sciences in a spectacular southwestern setting of unsurpassed beauty, rich cultural heritage and geographic diversity. A broad-based, one year core curriculum is followed by focused course work and thesis/dissertation research in faculty laboratories across the School of Medicine, including the Department of Cell biology & Physiology.
The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology faculty teach and train graduate students in two of the six BSGP concentrations: Cancer Biology and Cardiovascular Physiology.
