An AEMUS fellowship is not just about becoming proficient and an expert in the performance and interpretation of point-of-care ultrasound studies. Fellows will be trained in all aspects of emergency ultrasound, including advanced ultrasound applications (TEE, regional anesthesia, etc), ultrasound education, research, ultrasound system workflow, ultrasound-related information technology (IT) managment, ultrasound equipment upkeep and maintenance, credentialing and privileging, billing, documentation and reimbursement. The ultimate goal is for our graduates to be equipped with skills and knowledge required to function competently in the role of emergency ultrasound director or emergency ultrasound fellowship director in an environment of their choosing.
Upon completion of training, the fellow will receive a certificate of fellowship training from the University of New Mexico.
