I believe family medicine is the core foundation where all medicine begins. For most people, their fundamental health journey begins with general practitioners. The diversity of care allows for an opportunity to cultivate and build on providing a holistic and wholesome approach to patient care. I am intrigued by and enjoy the emphasis family medicine places on developing long term relationships with patients. Working towards strengthening that core foundation will hopefully allow me to advocate for and empower my patients to address their significant medical and mental health concerns head on. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to learn and train at UNM with hopes of utilizing those learnings into becoming a well-rounded physician.
