My background in surgery sparked a desire to be able to take care of the whole patient while still maintaining procedural proficiency. The only specialty that lets you have the best of both worlds is Family Medicine. Beyond that, I love the variety it offers within the day to day, as well as the opportunity to have longitudinal patient relationships. The ability to tailor my medical practice and maintain a great work life balance was what attracted me most to FM.
