I was drawn to family medicine because it offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while emphasizing preventive health and continuity of care. It allows me to treat patients of all ages and backgrounds while building deeper, more meaningful relationships with them. The ability to follow patients through different stages of life and help prevent disease will be deeply rewarding.
I am particularly drawn to the UNM Santa Fe program because of its unique combination of academic and community training. At UNMH, I will gain exposure to a wide range of specialties, broadening my medical knowledge. In Santa Fe, I will be immersed in the community, applying that knowledge to patients in rural areas with limited access to specialists and making a meaningful impact on underserved populations. I am excited about the opportunity to provide excellent care to the community and grow as a well-rounded family medicine physician.
