I chose Family Medicine because it embodies the kind of physician I aspire to be—one who builds lifelong relationships, provides compassionate first-contact care, and addresses the whole person, not just their symptoms. Growing up in New Mexico showed me the profound need for dedicated primary care physicians, especially for underserved and aging populations. My passion lies in geriatrics, lifestyle medicine, and preventive care, where I can empower patients to live healthier lives while managing chronic conditions with dignity. Family Medicine’s broad scope, from pediatrics to public health, excites me, as does the chance to work within collaborative, community-centered teams. That’s why training at UNM was an easy choice—it’s home, and its mission aligns perfectly with my goal to serve New Mexicans. I am excited to learn, grow, and contribute here.
