Research Coordinator
Research - CHEK-D
I joined CHEK-D in May 2025 and currently serve as a research scientist. In this role, I lead and support studies addressing health disparities in kidney disease, with a strong focus on data analysis and study design.
Before joining CHEK-D, I worked as the Senior Data Manager for an administrative agency supporting individuals living with HIV. There, I oversaw critical data systems aimed at improving public health outcomes in the HIV/AIDS sector. My background also includes experience as an HIV health services planner and a student researcher, which strengthened my expertise in community public health, particularly in nonprofit settings and applied epidemiology.
I have a deep, personal interest in kidney research inspired by my mother's battle with polycystic kidney disease. Her experience has given me firsthand insight into the systemic barriers that immigrant patients often face in accessing transplant care. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I am eager to collaborate with and serve the vibrant and diverse community of New Mexico.
