Based on my interview and previous word of mouth, I felt that Albuquerque would be a great place for me to grow personally and professionally. The camaraderie between residents is admirable and was key to my decision to train here. I really liked my interview with the outgoing chiefs. I just “clicked” with them and realized that they were the type of residents I wanted to be: personable, confident, and competent. The program has a great fellowship match, attendings who are pleasant to work with and who are willing to teach, and diversity in patient population and pathology. My hobbies and interests outside of medicine include soccer, weightlifting, and the NBA.
