Brandon Ledford, D.O.

Introduction: I grew up in Columbus, Kansas and went to Missouri State University for my undergraduate degree in clinical laboratory sciences. I worked for several years in a hospital laboratory and discovered pathology, which inspired me to pursue my medical degree at Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Wichita, Kansas.

Interests

• Pathology Interests: I'm especially interested in transfusion and hematopathology (so far), but I'm keeping an open mind as I go through residency. 
• What do you like about living in New Mexico: I like the beautiful New Mexico scenery, perfect weather (especially the low humidity), relatively lower cost of living compared to many cities, and the amazing food.
• Interests Outside of Pathology: I enjoy video games, pickleball, baking, trivia, and hanging out with my husky.  

Why I enjoy the pathology program at UNM

I really liked how friendly and welcoming everyone was when I did an away rotation. The residents seemed to have a sense of camaraderie that makes me feel supported as I complete my training. I appreciate how the UNM program places emphasis on preparing their residents for practice with graduated responsibility.
