Introduction: I was born and raised in New Mexico. I completed my undergraduate education at New Mexico State University where I received a degree in Biology. I went on to attend UNM School of Medicine, and during medical school, I had the opportunity to be a Post-Sophomore Fellow (PSF) in the Department of Pathology. The PSF year was an incredible and valuable experience, and during that year, I was certain it was the specialty for me.
I chose UNM because it’s a well-rounded program with world-renowned pathologists. Our attendings are beyond knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive, and there is plenty of opportunity to become more involved, whether it be research, teaching or other projects.
