Introduction: As a military child it’s hard to answer where I’m from. I went to 14 different schools before 9th grade! What I can say is that I am at “home” when I get to be surrounded by loved ones regardless of the place. That said, I’ve spent the majority of my life in Oregon, Colorado, and even right here in Albuquerque! My husband and I have spent the last decade with our beautiful Jindo dog, Rye, climbing mountains, paddling in lakes, gripping popcorn at the movies, and laughing over game nights with our friends.
This was, and heavily remains, my number one program. It wasn’t one thing in particular, it was the culmination of outstanding educators who are passionate about helping trainees be the best diagnosticians they can be, the exceptional fellowship opportunities, and most importantly, the fact that I felt completely at home here. This group of people cares about me as a human and as a pathologist. The mentorship I receive here is attentive, patient, motivating, and tailored to each of my ambitions. You will hear that “the people make the place” while on the interview trails. I can tell you with resounding certainty that the people here will see you and champion your successes with the tenacity you deserve.
