• Pathology/Research Interests: Transfusion Medicine, Hematopathology
• What do you like about living in New Mexico: I like the thunderstorms during the monsoon season, plenty to do in the city, good weekend getaway options between outdoor options and going up to Santa Fe. Home ownership is a viable option as a resident, and over half of pathology residents own a home.
• Interests Outside of Pathology: chess, soccer

Why I enjoy the pathology program at UNM

Affiliation with TriCore provides exposure to high-volume reference testing, as well as hands-on laboratory management through the hotseat rotation (a practicing pathologist can manage up to five labs). Perks include annual book fund (which rolls over each year), Step 3 cost is covered (does not come out of book funds), secure and covered parking directly adjacent to UNM Hospital. Residents and staff are approachable and motivated, promoting an effective training environment.
