Introduction: I was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. My undergraduate education was completed at Michigan Technological University (Houghton, MI) where I studied Biomedical Engineering. I returned downstate to Grand Rapids, MI, to attend medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
Interests Outside of Pathology: I love anything that involves working with my hands, so I do a lot of DIY projects, knitting, and crocheting. I also love writing poetry and reading (mostly trash fantasy, I will admit). When the weather is nice, I like getting outside and wandering around, whether that be hiking or exploring new shops. But most importantly, I am a personal butler to my cat, Sticki.
I love the people. Everyone in the program, from attendings to co-residents to staff, are wonderful to work with and truly supportive. The fact that we have great forensic pathology exposure and opportunities here really sold the deal for me, and the sunshine was a cherry on top!
