The Section for Child Safety and Well-Being provides integrated healthcare to children of all ages with concerns for abuse or neglect, and to children living in out-of-home care. Our board-certified child abuse pediatricians, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and social workers are experts in trauma-informed care. Our clinical services include:
Forensic assessments, coordination of care, and treatment for physical injuries, neglect, sexually transmitted diseases, and medical complexity
Therapy for children with problem sexual behaviors
Counseling about healthy relationships, and adolescent sex education
Injury prevention
Crisis intervention
Teen sexual assault support group (Segura Y Fuerte)
