Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: After going to med school at UNM, I realized that it was a really great place to work. There are a ton of opportunities for growth in your medical knowledge and experience because of its unique location. As a resident you get a lot of time to work directly with the attendings who have all been great at taking their time to ensure that you get the most out of your time in the hospital.
Favorite Things About UNM: The exposure to all facets of pediatrics is amazing here. Also, after spending a lot of time working with co-residents, I have found that they have really kept a great group!
Favorite Things About NM: If you are an outdoors kind of person, this is a great place to be. The city is right at the base of a mountain with a ton of space to hike and bike. There are many lakes and other outdoors places within 1-2 hours of Albuquerque and a ton of other small towns close by to explore. I am a little biased, but the food here is amazing and there are a ton of places to eat!
