Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I want to be in a city where I could bike year-round, and be close to nature. I was impressed day one when being in contact with the program leadership by how well organized and open they were with applicants and each other. There are also a lot of intentional investments in wellness and resident education.
Favorite Things About UNM: Dr. Craig's door and heart are always open for residents. I feel comfortable being myself and appreciated for my efforts. I also love our patient population. They teach me a lot about how to be a better doctor and person.
Favorite Things About NM: The people here are genuinely kind and generous with their time and energy. I had help settling in my new home from my co-residents, attendings, and even random strangers. Specifically in ABQ, I like going to my neighborhood Food Truck Wednesdays, Rail Yards Market, Balloon Fiesta, and hiking.
