Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science Medical Imaging
The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences (BSRS) Medical Imaging is a degree completion program for licensed medical imaging or radiation therapy technologists. Students complete program prerequisites, UNM general education requirements, and upper-level courses specific to the radiologic sciences. Completing the BSRS in Medical Imaging provides students with an opportunity to advance their careers and also provides a pathway to further their education.
The program is a part-time or full-time curriculum. All radiologic science (RADS) courses are offered in the online, asynchronous format to accommodate technologists in the workforce.
Eligible participants are certified radiographers, nuclear medicine technologists, radiation therapists, magnetic resonance imaging technologists or sonographers. Students must seek ARRT or ARDMS certification from an outside institution to be eligible for the Medical Imaging program.
Students enrolled in an entry-level certificate program at an outside institution should seek advisement as to when to start the BSRS program. Please contact the Radiologic Sciences Program for advisement.
University of New Mexico residency and grade point average requirements: The requirement of 30 hours of residency course work to be completed and awarded through the University of New Mexico.
Overall university course GPA 3.5 or higher on 4.0 scale (cum laude).
Participation in the Radiologic Sciences program and declaration of participation in the Departmental Honors process: Completion of a BSRS degree and/or certificate awarded through the University of New Mexico Radiologic Sciences Nuclear Medicine &/or Medical Imaging programs.
Declare intent to complete the Honors requirements two semesters in advance of graduation.
