Mission:

To best serve our community members of unique and culturally rich background from both privileged and vulnerable populations, the Univeristy of New Mexico Department of Radiology is unified by a shared desire to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among our patients, faculty, staff, and learners.

Vision:

The Radiology Department, in collaboration with the Radiology Diversity, Equity, and inclusion Committee, and in alignment with the UNM SOM Office of DEI and the UNM HSC Office of DEI, pledges to:

1. Foster recruitment, promotion, and retention of individuals with attention to underrepresented minorities that reflect the wide breadth of human differences that may be innately, decidedly, and/or circumstantially represented in the community.

Create an environment of anti-racisim and absolute inclusion, a culture and climate of belonging, mutual respect, and value for all our students, post-graduate trainees, faculyt, and staff.  We acknolwedge tha na environment of absolute inclusion translates to excellence, not only in patient care and community partnership, but also in meaninful scholarly pursuits, education, research, and just leadership throughout our institution.
5. Promote individual and workplace diversity, commit to measurable development, and support and expand an environment of inclusion that unifies us beyond social, economic, demographic, or geographic difference.
