Note: dates and location are subject to change depending on any public health orders, etc. in place at the time of Research Challenge. We are planning for a fully in-person event, but will have contingencies in place for hybrid or virtual options if needed.

Deadlines

• November 25, 2024 - Prior Approval Request Deadline
  • All required paperwork/forms DUE for any projects requiring PRIOR APPROVAL review by the Central NM STEM Research Challenge Scientific/Institutional Review Committee.  
  • This deadline is NOT applicable in cases where there is an approved Local SRC/IRB Committee
    • Local SRC/IRB Membership Roster must be submitted
    • At least ONE member MUST successfully complete RC/SF Bootcamp training AND be responsible for ensuring all other committee members have the ISEF Rules/Forms and have been briefed on committee & review requirements
• February 7, 2025 - Transmittal Form & Local SRC-IRB 
  • Transmittal Form & Local SRC-IRB Committee Rosters DUE
  • NOTE: Your SRC-IRB Committee Chair, at MINIMUM, must complete the new FREE online, self-paced SRC-IRB Training Module with 80% proficiency on the knowledge checks. The training module will be available by September 2024 at https://unmstemed.moodlecloud.com. We highly encourage ALL members of local-level review committees to complete this training and all are certainly also welcome to complete the RC Bootcamp training, but short of that, the Chairperson MUST agree to ensure all members are briefed on the ISEF rules/forms, have access to an electronic copy of the ISEF rules/forms, and receive training in the conducting of thorough & complete protocol reviews for prior approval as well as pre-competition final reviews.
